Reasons to sell For Sale By Owner

  • The most common reason people decide to sell their homes By Owner is to save on commission.  It can be a daunting task but in certain scenarios it makes sense.  Perhaps you're selling it to a family member and do not need maximum exposure.  Or maybe you're simply not in a hurry and want to see how much interest you can garner on your own.  Maybe you want to have more control over the sale process or want to build a more personal connection with potential buyers. Whatever your reason may be, I am here to assist you throughout the process.

  • If you have already listed your home For Sale By Owner, but you're willing to pay a partial commission to a Realtor who brings you a buyer and a signed contract, please let me know so that I can share your home with my current buyers.

Tips for Success

  • Make sure your home is clean and clutter-free. This will help potential buyers to visualize themselves living in the space.

  • Turn on lights and open curtains for maximum lighting

  • Consider staging your home with neutral decor and furniture to create a welcoming atmosphere.  Be sure to highlight the best features of your home, such as a spacious backyard or a renovated kitchen.

  • Be polite and professional during the showing, offering answers to questions and giving space to the potential buyer to explore the property.

  • Try to be available to show the property with short notice to interested buyers.

  • Use professional photographers, virtual tours and aerial photos

  • Use current and legally accepted documents such as contracts, addendums, disclosures, contingencies, etc.

  • Use a lawyer and or a title company to conduct your closing

  • Use a comprehensive market analysis (I can provide one for free) and have a professional appraisal done.  Buyers will not be able to obtain financing if the home appraises for less than your buyer's mortgage amount.
